NER - Stafford Springs RallyX

The kick-off event for 2012 is here! We will be at Stafford Springs Speedway the weekend of January 21 and 22. Saturday will be a NER Championship event. Sunday will be a second, separate NER Championship event. Overlapping, will be the NER RallyCross Snowdown consisting of both Saturday and Sunday runs. We will crown a overall champion in each class for the entire weekend! You can register for either Saturday OR Sunday. Entry fees have been reduced from last year. Snowdown participants will be competing for an additional prize for the top driver in each class for the whole weekend. Anyone who signs up for both days will automatically be qualified for the Snowdown. There is no extra charge. The smooth, hard surface makes this a good opportunity for cars that could not normally compete on softer surfaces. There may even be snow. Or, like last year, there may be A LOT of snow. To keep things moving along, we will be enforcing the "2-stuff" rule. Hot lunch is being prepared by the Dennis family and is included in the entry fee. Online registration with Motorsportreg here: http://www.motorsportreg.com/index.cfm/event/event.advert/uidEvent/3A9E6... NER - 2012 Winter Challenge Rally

Winter Challenge Rally18 February 2012 EVENT:  The weekend will consist of a single New England Regional, SCCA rally running from 6pm Saturday until 6am Sunday with 2 breaks. Entry Form Although no car-breaking roads will be used, the majority of the roads chosen are rural, unpaved roads, which will undoubtedly be snow and ice covered.  The rally will go no further east than Littleton, NH; no further north than St. Johnsbury, VT; no further west than Waterbury, VT; and no further south than White River Jct, VT. The route of the rally will be approximately 240 miles, with the maximum distance between gas stops of 100 miles.  The break between sections will be approximately 50min. The rally is run throughout the night on remote back roads.  It is essential that you and your vehicle be prepared for backcountry winter driving.  This means good winter tires or DOT approved studs, warning triangle, shovels, and tow rope for the vehicle.  This means warm clothes, blankets, flashlights, food, and whatever else you deem important. The Winter Challenge Rally will be broken into 3 sections each with its own challenges and instruction format.  This rally will crown the most knowledgeable and versatile team in rallying! The first section will be in written instruction format. The section will be TSD rally, lightly-trapped (much easier than the early years); some TSD experience necessary. The second section will be a map exercise using a more updated map than the early years. The route will be high-lighted on the map with a separate sheet of confirmation information. The third section will be tulip diagrams with mileages to most instructions. Overall the Winter Challenge will be brisk throughout, with a couple of faster areas. Since the 2011 edition is a single rally, the TSD section will be easier for the non-rallyists and the brisk section somewhat slower for non-racers. START/FINISH: The Winter Challenge Rally Weekend will headquarter at Day’s Inn, 173 So. Main St, Barre, VT [tel: 802-476-6678]. There are many additional lodging options in the area. A late checkout [12noon] has be arranged for those that request when making reservations. DIRECTIONS: From I-89, take Exit 6 (Rte 63).
